Bump!

November 4, 2010 - Leave a Response

I will forever be apologising that I haven’t updated this blog.

I have been having lots of fun though, and now that we seem to have a hint of sunshine (ooh, don’t tell the weather that, or it may go away….) It seems that people are slowly coming out of the wood work and asking if they could please have a portrait taken….

Of course you can! with pleasure!

Here’s a couple of pictures I took recently.

Baby Matthew has since been born (only about a week after these were taken)

And I can tell you, he is delish.

Well done guys xx

Wedding Season!

September 1, 2010 - Leave a Response

So I have now officially shot my first wedding for the season.

It was at the lovely Beaufort house, formally Dorothy’s and run by the fantastic Sharon Rees-Thomas.

We were all made so welcome, and the fire was cranking, so Meg was in heaven!

It was a beautiful intimate occasion with just a sprinkling of friends and family… and it was a secret…

{well, it WAS a secret, the cat is out of the bag now, so to speak}

Christine, John, Piper and Bishop were all spectacular on the day.

One of those weddings that you have to fight back a tear at…

I love those kinds of weddings.

Here is a very very small glimpse…

NEW NAME!!!!

August 18, 2010 - Leave a Response

I have been feeling this coming for some time.
It is time for a change.
Many things in life change, and I want to keep up with the flow of where I feel I am going, so I am changing the name of Meg Blackmore Photography to

One Red Chair {photography}

I feel that it’s a fun name, that encompasses the unique, and sometimes random approach to child and family photography.
Come sit in the hot seat!
There is always a place for you.

You can have a look around the facebook fan page, and see whats going on too…. and…
There is a very good celebratory special on…
but…
there are only 3 spaces, so be in quick!

How can you not adore a newborn baby.

I’m sorry, but you just can’t not adore a newborn baby.

No, I’m not (completely) clucky… but Scarlet was so teeny!!!

Teeny things are just so adorable, and sweet, and I admit, I am a big giant sucker for newborns. There. I said it.

Big Bro Finn was super cool, and made the shoot heaps of fun.

Thanks guys, what a pleasure!

Here’s some favs of one week old Scarlett and family.

Model Babes

July 30, 2010 - Leave a Response

I have been busy busy busy shooting some gorgeous wee poppets for a modeling agency.

I actually love doing this, as it’s a bit of a treat for a portrait photographer, to be able to shoot gorgeous kids, who already enjoy  having their pictures taken.

It’s not a long shoot, as these are test shots for the kids, but I love it.

Shooting kids (as weird as that sounds!) really energizes me!

It sounds so crazy, as obviously, it can be a fairly exhausting process in itself, but I find that it makes me think like a kid again.

I’m jumping round, getting their attention, thinking outside the square to get a giggle or 5 and making some rather strange noises. Basically you have to be quick, interesting, a bit of a clown (a bit?!) have a good sense of humour, and know when to (and not to) shoot.

Awesome.

SO much fun.

I love kids.

Coffee Madness!

June 27, 2010 - Leave a Response

I was invited to be a ‘guest photographer’ at a mums coffee group last Friday.

They wanted some pictures of the kids at the delightful age of around 2 1/2.

And a memory of who was doing what, when. 🙂

It was awesome! Busy, loud, muddy, but awesome none the less.

It was an excellent way of being able to have all the kids photographed in a comfortable environment, as they played, and I stalked!

I had a great time chasing kids around Jo’s fabulous backyard, which deserves a photoshoot all of it’s own really!

She was a brave woman that day!

Here are some of my favs :

Hello blog land!!

Here are some updates from the world of MBP..

I had an awesome time photographing the beautiful Briar and Bump ( and Eric and Cartier too)

They are in the middle of renovating the most amazing ‘barn’ into an incredible home for their wee family.

Such a clever crew!

And the next lot of photos are of the gorgeous Piper and Bishop, the yummy babes of Christine…

I used to know her as ” Hi, it’s Christine from SNBS… I’ve got your child in the sick bay…” Now she’s just “hot Christine” 😉

We had a blast despite the rain.
Plus her kids are just gorgeous!!!

Enjoy!!!

Beauty Captured

Sometimes you have the privilege of meeting someone with a remarkable soul.

You listen to their story, and thank God that you have a different tale to tell.

Meli is a remarkable soul.

Eli, her little man, is a beam of sunshine in her life, and she is fiercely protective of him.

These two are walking their walk through life with their heads held high, and but by the grace of God, surviving to talk about it.

Meli baby,
You are truly an inspiration.
If you can do your walk with this much grace,
we surely can be encouraged to do ours.

Bless ya hun, and thankyou for the opportunity to share these beautiful images of you.
